Why die ...
for a lie?
Forget the lie ...
let out a sigh,
enjoy another
delicious cream pie.
The dark clouds part ...
Blue sky.
Please Mr. President,
don't ask me to die
for your lie ...
Another politicians' war.
No open door
to give peace
the floor.
So we the poor ...
to fight once more.
A war that
we all deplore.
As the politician's
family sleep,
safe in bed ...
The politician strains
with ears pressed firmly
against his family door ...
Another snore ...
The politician sighs ...
My family is safe from
a sniper's bullet.
As if there was
any doubt.
Now back to running
this war ...
Why Die?
Why the poor are
the ones who die
in our arrogant
politicians' silly wars?
