I wake up each day,
ready to wax and wane.
Oh the strain.
Yesterday ...
I could conquer the world.
But today ...
I struggle to conquer myself.
Why am I so weak
as I strive for the peak?
When I know that my world
needs my bold streak?
I'm up and I'm down,
like a big clown ...
trying to drown.
Waxing and waning.
Who needs this
heavy old crown.
To hell with it all,
let's all go and we'll drown.
Another little frown
from another little
helpless town.
Bring out the clown,
I need my daily fix
of courage ...
To keep me from going,
further down.
Down like a clown.
Further on down
with my little old town ...
I'm up and I'm down
waxing and waning ...
just like a spoilt kid in a park
upon the see-saw.
