I strive ...
And I boldly survive.
I feel alive
like a busy bee
buzzing around
my local hive.
To fit in ...
Ah ... that mighty trap
that muddles many men's
messy mini minds ...
So I go crazy and
I accumulate all
the material crap.
Coz I want to fit in with
the crowd on the hill.
No time to nap.
Real power?
Perhaps!
A wasted tortured life ...
I finally wake to greet
my twisted strife.
The crafty salesman
told me that when
I buy his trinkets ...
It is I ...
who will own the
jewels of the crown.
And no, your credit's
not blown ... Yet!
But with every worthless
trivial trinket I attach my
heart, mind and soul to ...
Costs me a tad more of
my precious freedom.
Because the more I have,
the more effort I must
squander today to
prevent its loss.
So I am never free
from the stress of
my possible loss ...
So who owns who?
I asked of the god.
The very wise know
that it is the mighty trinkets
that sit in the dark corner
who are the kings we serve.
They get the nod.
And in the end ...
the mighty Venus Fly Trap
of Attachment ...
Gobbles us up alive ...
a silly spent force,
propelled out its smelly butt ...
Another pile of shit.
