The purpose of the nodule solar cell surface is to dramatically increase the surface area for collecting solar energy. Similar to the nodules of the intestinal walls of the human digestive system.
The inspiration came from the villi (villus) nodules found in the human small intestinal tract and how these little nodules give our intestines a massive surface area equal to a tennis court.
The solar nodules can be of a conical, pyramid or any practical shape. The emphasis is to maximize the surface area of the solar cell and therefore the solar panel.
Making the cell and panel super dense and super efficient.
