If I fell asleep tonight
without saying I love you,
and you passed away
during the night,
and I never again get
to hold you tight ...
Tomorrow's far too late!
If we part again today
after another trivial fight,
without a loving word to say,
and an accident takes
your life away,
and we never get to
make things right ...
Tomorrow's far too late!
If we're on the telephone,
talking in our angry tone,
not realizing that this
would be our last visit
to our angry zone,
if life would take you
away from me today,
then you would never
hear my love to say.
Tomorrow's far too late!
If I assumed I'd see you
at home tonight,
thinking that everything
would be alright,
but never again will I get to
hold you warm at night,
because someone had
to beat that red light ...
Tomorrow's far too late!
If I failed to take you on
our weekly picnic,
pretending I was feeling
very tired and sick,
because I wanted to watch
men play on TV with their
ball and hitting stick,
because there's always
going to be another fun day
on every other Sunday.
But how could I ever know
I would lose you on this day.
Tomorrow's far too late!
If I failed to take you
to the dance.
And you wore your
favorite party dress.
You looked so sexy,
but I didn't give you
a second glance,
foolishly thinking I'll get
my usual daily chance.
But how could I know
that life would turn that
falling pole into a lance.
Tomorrow's far too late!
If we were driving along
the long and winding highway,
and at the wheel asleep I fell,
you and I could never tell,
that we would never get to
bid each other well.
Tomorrow's far too late!
Assuming is the mother
of all our regrets.
If I assume tomorrow
you will still be here with me.
And failed today to do
what I know should be,
and should I lose you,
I will have no time to borrow,
because I plan to have a
lot of pain and sorrow.
So I must cherish you my
precious love today ...
In every precious way ...
in the way you sway,
in the way you lay,
in the way you play,
in the way you know the way,
and in every single thing
that you do and say.
And I must take the time
to love and cherish you today
with more fun and play.
When you wear your sexy
dress, I must stop and give
you more then a second glance,
incase fate deprives me of
a another priceless chance.
And I must take you to
the local dance.
Because ...
Tomorrow may well be
far, far too late for me!
