If people hate us, isn't it far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far better to dig deep into our hearts and minds and find the courage, compassion and wisdom to ask them why they hate us, and make peace with them, rather then to foolishly squander billions of dollars from our nation's prosperity chest on ill-conceived senseless and futile military and security campaigns to either -

All we end up doing is depleting our precious national treasuries of their precious wealth, while trying to fight those illusive, indestructible, self-replicating ghosts we call terrorists.

How can a nation possibly protect its citizens by identifying every bomb hidden in every garbage bin, every hotel room, every home, every public place, every school yard, every car, every plane, train and ship, every water supply and utility service. And to do this futile exercise every second of every day for the next 1,000 plus years?

The cost will surely run into the trillions of dollars, rendering every nation economically and emotionally bankrupt.

The monumental challenge for us from here on is how do we easily and cost-effectively identify a lethal bomb which can be disguised as a packet of cigarettes, remote controlled toy, mobile phone, or even one of we six billion people. And they can all be triggered remotely.

And even more disturbing is the fact those who hate can even use the Internet to cripple our critical utility infrastructure by attacking the software that controls our NOC's - Network Operating Centers - the SCDA - Supervisory Control Data Acquisition Systems.

So they don't even have to risk their lives to enter our over protected national defense systems, they can critically hurt us digitally from a far.

And the experts believe that they now possess the capabilities to cripple any city in the world for many months.

So squandering each nation's precious wealth on fighting ghosts is just plain silly and futile, coz in the end we will lose anyway, because there will always be a new Osama ready to inflict more misery and mayhem on our totally defenseless towns, dams and cities.

This may be a silly naive stab in the dark for global peace, but we have to start somewhere ...

And hopefully we make a profound paradigm shift so that we can put our fears and hatred and revenge aside and ask better tougher more effective and more loving questions on how we can find peace with those dedicated soldiers who we have and continue to force to hate us and want so desperately to hurt and kill us.

Many of we pro-war dudes will think that the peace approach is only for the naive, ignorant, silly, cowardly, foolish or simple minded who do not understand the complexities of foreign policy or all things military.

But, how do you explain to a child that his mother or father isn't coming home tonight because of another terror explosion on the subway, or a child missing a limb because of a landmine, or the survivors of the victims as they bury their loved ones after another painful 911, Bali, Spain or London.

Think into the future, 5, 10, 20 years, when up to 30%-60% of each nation's annual budget is squandered on futile anti-terror publicity stunts, and that's what they will be, futile PR stunts to con us into believing that it's safe to venture outdoors to put the garbage out, or take the kids to the playground for some fun, or to dare to board a plane for a holiday abroad.

And where our only form of joy and travel will be what we find on the Discovery Channel.

Surely that's a massive and unacceptable price for us to pay for our hard nosed arrogance. The squandering of our economic prosperity and our freedom to live joyous happy lives.

Isn't it so grand being so smug and smart, and being just so wealthy and ever so powerful, now we are all huddled up nice and cozy in our underground anti-terror shelters.

Mom can I have another tin of cold baked beans. And dad the stench from our broken down chemical toilet is unbearable. And when are you going to fix the light so we can see again to read our favorite Harry Potter.

All because we were too smart and too tough and too arrogant and too wealthy to find the will to put our hatred aside and to seek peace with those who we continue to compel to hate us.

Don't we know that every joule of force that we use against fighting terror can only create more resistance and more costly misery and more funerals for our loved ones.

Six billion intelligent minds, and we couldn't come up with the will, wisdom or intestinal fortitude to prevent the Second Gulf war.

Because it makes no sense to the WEPI Team. It just had to be written because the story had to be retold until we all learn of our past failings ...

And wake and stop throwing our "You're An Evil Terrorist" stones at those who think, act and look differently from us.

So let's look into our "who's the real terrorist" mirrors and stop the stone throwing today ...

For we business people and investors of stocks, bonds and real estate, what will be the value of our assets when the world is overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty and no one is buying?

And if we all ask each other for true forgiveness, then we will see that there isn't anything to forgive each other for.

Because to forgive is to assume a position of power over others. And as long as we keep placing ourselves above others in a self-righteous way, then no one will feel the desire to find unconditional love and peace for each other, because ...

nobody likes to be looked down on, and nobody likes to be patronized, and nobody likes to be dumbed down, nobody ...

September 11 can be the most profound turning point in our long history of abuse of each other, and we can use it as a lesson to warn us that things are not right between us.

It can be such a wonderful point for humanity, or it can be the beginning of a more sinister and painful future.

It's up to all of us to decide together, not a single person on this Earth can sit on the fence with this one, because so damn much depends on getting the answer right.

He went on to say that while the USA was being attacked, various parts of his nation were being attacked by US backed attackers. Who is right?

Is an Arab or Panamanian or Cuban or Asian life less valuable then an American's?

The world owes a massive debt to the USA for our freedom and prosperity because of the courage, competence, defense funding and sacrifice of the American people, that we cannot and must never ever forget.

But does that give we rich nations the right to abuse the poor people of the world without any accountability?

So it is time for us to move into The Light and stop all the rhetoric, and hating and killing, and truly find the solutions so that we can stop hurting each other and squandering massive precious opportunities and resources on hate and revenge.
